Sari's Statement

For me, colors are the most important element of a work. I start working with colors and the theme comes out gradually as I go. I apply many thick layers of oil paint to the canvas with a palette knife. Each layer takes a few weeks to dry before I can add a new one; I usually put on about five, so my technique is very slow. but this is the way I get the feeling that I want into the works. People get many things out of my work - I think there is room for everyone to experience things in their own way. Perhaps my greatest hope is to bring joy to people through my art.
